El Viento Flamenco performs at St. Matthew's on Barrington

Surrounded by the sonic splendor of St. Matthew's on Barrington, El Viento Flamenco will host an evening of raw and earthy flamenco, that's been nurtured on the windswept shores of our Atlantic coast.

In love with the tradition, El Viento's Megan Matheson, Maral Perk, Sean Harris, Bob Sutherby and Tony Tucker will head up the evening with a blend of traditional and modern flamenco that will preview the exciting new sound of their up-coming album Caminando. New choreographies for "Soleá", "Seguiriya" and "Farruca" by Megan Matheson will be officially premiered, and Maral Perk, fresh from the stages of Spain, will debut vocal pieces from her recent intensive in Seville.

El Viento will be joined by up-and-coming guitarist Ayman Amer, renowned percussionist Ken Shorley and bassist Pat Riley, and guest dancers from El Viento Flamenco School of Dance - Alejandra Vera, Michelle Raiche-Marsden & Martine Durier-Copp.

Because of the nature of today's digital age, physical manufacture of CDs has declined significantly. As a result, El Viento Flamenco is producing a limited first-time run of only 500 copies of Caminando. This pre-sale offer allows you the opportunity to purchase in advance. Once the CD has been manufactured (later in the spring of 2009) we'll see to it that you receive your advance copy.
