NBC Universal Canada Opening Night Film - Blindness
Thursday, Sept. 11 - 7 pm
The Festival's opening film, Blindness, which also opened this year's Cannes Film Festival was directed by Academy Award-nominated Fernando Meirelles (City of God, The Constant Gardener), and stars Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Danny Glover, Gael Garcia Bernal and Alice Braga. Blindness takes place in a city ravaged by an epidemic of instant 'white blindness'. At first, the authorities in abandoned mental hospital quarantine those afflicted, but the newly created 'society of the blind' quickly breaks down and a small group must band together to triumphantly overcome the horrific conditions. Tickets are $15.00

Check out the great urban blues pop sound of VH1's Artist On The Rise, Justin Nozuka at the NBC Universal Canada Opening Night Party on Thursday, September 11th- it's the biggest outdoor street party in Atlantic Canada and Argyle Street shuts down for this annual event to roll out the red carpet and welcome stars from around the corner, and around the world. Tickets are $25.
